I'm stepping out of my comfort zone to bring you a vampire romance that's spicy, unpredictable, and absolutely mesmerizing. But don't just take it from me. I gave my Advanced Reader Team their copies of Taken by Fate a few weeks ago, telling them nothing about the book before hand so I could get their blind reactions.

Wow!
I didn’t know what to expect reading a Shannon Mayer book blindly (no heads up of plot, characters or even the books name) and it blew my socks off! I couldn’t stop reading it.

Trust me when I say you will want to take a pto day line up that babysitter or go lock yourself away. The story is told by the 2 MCs, Sienna and Dominic, from their point of view (POV). I normally don’t like this type of writing, especially through an entire book, but this is so well written, it didn’t bother me in the least. I like that, when the POV switches from one to another, it doesn’t take off from the last chapter (ie; the end of Sienna’s POV —- I walked into the room and looked for him…then Dominic starts off from when he himself walked in the room and what happened with him before she walked in and then takes off from there). I like that you get to know what each character is going through when they are not together so you get a better understanding of their circumstances.

First of all, OMG now this is how you kick off a series! This literally grabbed me from the very first page and I didn’t want to put it down let alone couldn’t! Sienna is such an incredible character, strong, sassy and full of snark whereas Dominic is strong, dark and doesn’t have much in the way of a sense of humour but they have this amazing, sizzling chemistry.

This update will be a short but important one.
If you backed at the Guardian or Gerry's levels your Mystery box is headed your way!
Tracking numbers have been mailed to you, and you may be able to find them in your inbox by searching "[email protected]"
When your box arrives I would love if you tag me in your unboxings! If you want to share to my reader group on Facebook or in the Lair, please make sure you do it in the spoiler rooms set up for you. International backers won't get theirs for a few weeks, and I want them to have the same opportunity to open it and be surprised.

Shipping Timeline Update - And a card deck preview!

I've gotten more updates from our partners in crafting your gorgeous Kickstarter editions, and that has adjusted the shipping timeline. While I hoped to send the books early in November of 2022, my team is going to miss a few key deadlines that would make that possible. However we are on track to still be able to deliver your books in January 2023, which was the original ship by date. (And this is exactly why I gave the date of January 2023 from the start. We built in cushion time for rescheduling as needed.) Instead of mailing books, tarot decks, and add-ons together, I'm having my team ship everything except the books as soon as they are ready.
Here's what that means, and when you can expect things to ship:
Guardian/Gerry's Mystery Boxes: September
(Our last 2 items will arrive next week, and we'll start packing right away.)
(Some) Add ons: Late September
We are still waiting on the following: Tarot Cloths, Inner Circle tumblers. The cloths are on the way, and we do not expect the tumblers until November.
When we ship Guardian and Gerry's mystery boxes we'll include whatever add ons we have on hand right with the mystery boxes.
Once those are out, we'll begin packing add ons for the rest of our backers.
Tarot Decks and Simple Spreads:
I expect these to arrive in November, and will get them out as soon as they arrive. Expect the tarot shipping process to take about 3 weeks, so please don't stress if you start to see people posting about receiving theirs!
Kickstarter Forty Proof Series editions:
I do not yet have an estimated date when the books will arrive, but our best guess is the middle of December. All editions have to be carefully checked and numbered. Shannon will be coming to personalize the Guardian tier books in the middle of January, but we may send some of the other tiers out before this. Expect all packages to be sent by January 31st.
The Crash Art Prints and Overlays will likely ship with the books.
Virginia Meet Up/ Kickstarter After Party: Saturday January 21st
I'm still working on finalizing details, but this is planned to be a brunch event that will be ticketed as we can only accommodate 75 attendees. For those who are not able to come to the brunch, I am also planning a more casual bar/tavern style event that evening that will not require tickets. Details will be forthcoming.
